news media

More than 200 young performers from 4 to 22 years old gathered in Palanga with their cheerleaders over the weekend. It has become a tradition that the well-known competition for young performers “Music Talent League” closes its competition season in Palanga. The competition attracted young singers not only from all Lithuanian towns and cities, but also from abroad – singers from Latvia, Estonia, Poland, England, Ireland, Belgium and Germany.
A festive atmosphere already prevailed the day before the festival, when the procession of the participants towards the sea bridge, filmed by drones, attracted the attention of Palanga guests. The Palanga Observation Wheel gave the contestants the opportunity to admire the views of the ending summer from high above. The little contestants were happy that it was the first time for some of them. On the day of the event, the young singers’ competition took place from early morning at the Palanga Concert Hall, judged by an international jury of renowned vocal pedagogues and music experts. The competition was filmed and will be broadcast on national radio and television from November.

Palanga City Municipality and its mayor Šarūnas Vaitkus have established a prize “For an original song”. It was awarded to the participant who was the only one in the competition who was not afraid to perform her own original song – Ieva Andriuškevičiūtė (22 years old, manager Diana Dargienė), who lives in the United Kingdom.
The winners of the Golden Grand Prix Kids for children up to 11 years of age were Andrius Moskevič (12 years old, coached by Indrė Launikonytė) and Gabrielė Butkaliuk (10 years old, coached by Sonata Kudžmienė) from Vilnius. In the teenage group (12-14 years old) the Golden Grand Prix Juniors went to the group “Keberiokšt Juniors” from Klaipėda (14 years old, leader Regina Vindžiagalskienė). Among the most experienced young performers aged 15-22, the Golden Grand Prix Adults award went to Mėta Visminaitė from Palanga (15 years old, leader Diana Beržanskienė) and the group “Svirplys” from the Gargždai Music School (16 years old, leader Nijolė Usevičienė). And the main winner of the whole competition was the group from Venspils (Latvia) “VIVA” (17 years old, leader Lucija Boitmane). The performance of this group did not leave any member of the jury or the audience of the Palanga Concert Hall indifferent. The leader of the group was presented with a gift from the Grand Baltic Dunes Hotel. “We are extremely happy that our performance was so highly appreciated. We were secretly hoping for it, but we couldn’t be sure, because the participants in this competition are of a very high standard,” said Lucija Boitmane, the group’s manager.

The competition will be hosted by Ieva Cijūnėlytė and Darvinas Tamulynas, winner of the Grand Prix Kids of the Music Talent League.
